Chemerin-9 acts as a ChemR23/CMKLR1 agonist, preventing atherosclerosis whilst inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation and promoting Abeta microglial clearance. It modulates blood pressure and sympathetic nervous system activity via glutamate receptor-mediated ROS production.
