Does not detect alpha 2 integrin subunit by Western Blot presumably due to conformational properties of the epitope involved. The epitope is dependent on the presence of the I-domain of alpha 2 integrin subunit and does not bind VLA-2 variant which lacks the I-domain. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, and Inhibition of VLA-2 mediated cell adhesion to collagen and laminin. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: P3X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable at -20C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
