Immunogen: Purified human chorionic gonadotropin
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced by placenta after conception. hCG is comprised of an a subunit with 92aa and a b subunit with 245aa. The a subunit is identical to that of LH (Luteinizing hormone), FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone) and TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone). hCG sustains corpus luteum, stimulates progesterone secretion, hence is critical to early fetal development. It has also been reported that hCG plays a role in the development of fetal tolerance to maternal immunity. hCG is the most sensitive biomarker for pregnancy. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Radioimmunoassay, Purification of hCG by affinity chromatography, qualitative and quantitative Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
