For the quantitative determination of rabbit tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase 1 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, and tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 7.8pg/ml Detection Range: 15.6-1000pg/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of rabbit TIMP-1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between rabbit TIMP-1 and analogues was observed. Assay Principle: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with TIMP-1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for TIMP-1. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated TIMP-1 and TIMP-1 in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of TIMP-1 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Stable for 6 months after receipt. Once opened, the kit is stable for 1 month providing this is within the expiration date of the kit. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
