A phosphorylated glucosamine used in the enzymatic alpha-glucosaminylation of maltooligosaccharides catalyzed by phosphorylase. alpha-D-Glucosamine 1-phosphate is a methylated and glycosylated carbohydrate that is synthesized from glucose. It can be used as a building block for the synthesis of polysaccharides, such as chitin and cellulose. alpha-D-Glucosamine 1-phosphate can also be modified by fluorination to produce an active form with potent anticancer activity. Synonyms: 2-Amino-2-deoxy-alpha-D-glucopyranose 1-(dihydrogen phosphate), 2-Amino-2-deoxy-alpha-D-glucopyranosyl Phosphate CAS No: 2152-75-2 Molecular Formula: C6H14NO8P Molecular Weight: 259.15 Appearance: Off-white to pale yellow solid Purity: 97% (TLC) Solubility: Water (Sparingly) Storage and Stability: May be stored at RT for short-term only. Long-term storage is recommended at -20C. Hygroscopic. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
