CMP-SiaNAz (CMP-NeuNAz) sodium is a nucleotide sugar derivative of sialic acid. It is integrated into glycan chains in the Golgi apparatus by STs, forming SiaNAz compounds. CMP-SiaNAz sodium can serve as a substrate for bacterial-derived sialyltransferase, facilitating chemoenzymatic labeling and imaging of cell surface glycans.
