Avicin D is a plant-derived triterpenoid compound. It induces autophagy (Autophagy) through AMPK activation and inhibits the activities of mTOR and S6 kinase. Avicin D selectively triggers apoptosis (Apoptosis) and downregulates the expression of p-STAT-3, bcl-2, and Survivin. It possesses selective glucocorticoid receptor (Glucocorticoid receptor) modulation properties and inhibits the activation of NF-kappaB. Additionally, Avicin D exhibits antitumor effects against cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.
