Ardisianone, a compound with an alkylbenzoquinone structure, is isolated from extracts of Ardisia virens Kurz and Ardisia compressa tea. It exhibits potent anti-leukemic activity, particularly in HL-60 cells, where its IC50 values are 1.87 µM (24 h) and 1.67 µM (48 h). Ardisianone induces caspase-dependent apoptosis and triggers pyroptosis. It is useful for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) research.
