To date, four rodent-associated hantaviruses have been identified in Germany: Puumala, Tula, Dobrava-Belgrade and Seoul viruses. The Puumala virus (PUUV) in particular, which is transmitted by the bank vole, causes significant illness in humans. Infection can lead to mild to moderate haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). ReaScan DOBRAVA-HANTAAN IgM are lateral flow rapid tests for detection of acute Hantavirus infections in human serum or plasma. The test result is read from the test cassette with the ReaScan+ reader. The test is intended for in vitro diagnostic laboratory use by healthcare professionals.
