Elastin from bovine is an elastin isolated from bovine tissues. Elastin is a key vertebrate protein responsible for the elasticity of load-bearing tissues such as the lungs, blood vessels, and skin. Elastin from bovine serves as the main core component of elastic fibers. It polymerizes from the soluble precursor tropoelastin and forms a highly cross-linked, insoluble polymer network through complex covalent cross-links between Lys residues. Elastin from bovine can be used to construct 3D in vitro vascular models for simulating pathological processes such as vascular wall degeneration and lumen stenosis[1][2][3].
