KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide mapping to a fragment of residues within amino acids1-30 from the N-terminal region of human MKNK1 (NP_003675, Q9BUB5).
MKNK1 encodes a predicted 424aa protein containing a sequence typical of the catalytic domain of serine/threonine kinases and a putative N-terminal nuclear localization signal sequence.C-terminal region of MKNK1 was phosphorylated and activated in vivo and in vitro by ERK1 and p38 MAP kinases, but not by JNK/SAPK. The activated ERK is essential for the activation of MKNK1 in insect cells. MKNK1 was activated following stimulation of HeLa cells with a variety of extracellular stimuli. MNK1 bind tightly to the growth factor-regulated MAP kinases, Erk1 and Erk2, and also binds strongly to the stress-activated kinase, p38. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
