Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-terminus of human MAP4 (KLH). Species sequence homology: equine, canine and bovine.
Microtubule-associated protein 4 (MAP4) is a ubiquitous non-neuronal microtubule-associated protein. This protein binds, polymerizes, and stabilizes microtubules and is thought to regulate microtubule dynamics during the cell cycle. p34cdc2 kinase phosphorylation of MAP4 appears to regulate the control of microtubule reorganization at mitosis (Ookata, 1997). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml detected MAP4 in 10ug of HeLa cell lysate. Immunocytochemistry: 1:500 detected MAP4 in HeLa, NIH/3T3, and A431 cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Hela cell lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
