Does not detect alpha 2 integrin subunit by Western Blot presumably due to conformational properties of the epitope involved. The epitope is dependent on the presence of the I-domain of alpha 2 integrin subunit and does not bind VLA-2 variant which lacks the I-domain. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, and Inhibition of VLA-2 mediated cell adhesion to collagen and laminin. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunoprecipitation: 2-5ug (lysate of 10e6 cell equivalent) Flow Cytometry: 10ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Frozen tissue sections): 5ug/ml Inhibition: 10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: P3X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
