For the quantitative determination of sheep Somatotropin (GH1) in serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 0.675ng/ml Detection Range: 2.5-40ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of sheep GH1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between sheep GH1 and analogues was observed. Assay Principle: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GH1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with biotin-conjugated GH1. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between GH1 (Standards or samples) and Biotin-conjugated GH1 with the pre-coated antibody specific for GH1. The more amount of GH1 in samples, the less antibody bound by Biotin-conjugated GH1. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of GH1 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
