3,5-Dinitrosalicylic acid is a derivative of salicylic acid and inhibits pancreatic triacylglycerol lipase (IC50 = 20.4 µM). It is a classic reagent used for the quantification of reducing sugars in biochemical research and is also widely used in the assay of enzyme activities such as alpha-amylase and cellulase.
