OR52D1 is an olfactory receptor belonging to the G proteincoupled receptor superfamily, primarily involved in odorant detection. Although mainly expressed in olfactory sensory neurons, emerging evidence suggests ectopic expression in nonolfactory tissues, where it may participate in cell migration, proliferation, and tumor biology.
