| Prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase (PTGS), also known as cyclooxygenase, is the key enzyme in prostaglandin biosynthesis, and acts both as a dioxygenase and as a peroxidase. There are two isozymes of PTGS: a constitutive PTGS1 and an inducible PTGS2, which differ in their regulation of expression and tissue distribution. This gene encodes the inducible isozyme. It is regulated by specific stimulatory events, suggesting that it is responsible for the prostanoid biosynthesis involved in inflammation and mitogenesis. |

Western blot analysis of various lysates using COX2/PTGS2 Rabbit mAb (A25901)at 1:1000 dilutionincubated overnight at 4°C. Immunoprecipitation of COX2/PTGS2 from 1200 µg extracts of RAW264.7 cells treated with LPS (0.1µg/ml, 6h) was performed using 0.5 µg of COX2/PTGS2 Rabbit mAb (A25901). Rabbit IgG isotype control (AC042) was used to precipitate the Control IgG sample. IP samples were eluted with 1X Laemmli Buffer. The Input lane represents 10% of the total input. Western blot analysis of immunoprecipitates was conducted using COX2/PTGS2 Rabbit mAb (A25901) at a dilution of 1:1000. |
